Overview
What is hormone therapy?
Hormones are your body's messengers. As they shift with age, stress or menopause, you can feel it in your energy, sleep, mood and libido.
At our Sugar Land clinic, we measure your levels first. If therapy is right for you, your provider builds a plan for your body and adjusts it as you respond.
Energy & mood
Shifting hormones can leave you tired, foggy or short-tempered. Balance can help you feel like yourself again.
Sleep & body
Hormones shape sleep, muscle, body fat and recovery. We look at the full picture, not one number.
Ongoing care
Follow-up labs and check-ins keep your dose where it should be as your body changes.

For men
Hormone therapy
Testosterone naturally declines with age. When low levels are confirmed by labs and paired with real symptoms, therapy may help you regain your drive and energy.
Common signs
- Low energy or constant fatigue
- Lower sex drive
- Loss of muscle or strength
- More belly fat despite effort
- Irritability, low mood or brain fog
Hormone replacement
Testosterone
- What it is
- Restores testosterone toward a healthy range when labs confirm your levels are low.
- How it is taken
- Options may include injections or a topical cream, chosen with your provider.
- Often considered for
- Men with confirmed low testosterone and symptoms that affect daily life.
Peptide therapy
Sermorelin
- What it is
- A peptide that signals your pituitary gland to release more of your own growth hormone.
- How it is taken
- Typically a small injection under the skin, often in the evening.
- Often considered for
- Adults interested in support for sleep, recovery and body composition.

For women
Hormone therapy
Perimenopause and menopause can change how you sleep, feel and think. Hormone therapy may ease those symptoms with a plan built around your history.
Common signs
- Hot flashes or night sweats
- Trouble sleeping
- Mood changes or anxiety
- Low libido or vaginal dryness
- Irregular cycles or brain fog
Hormone replacement
Estrogen
- What it is
- Replaces estrogen that declines around menopause, the main driver of hot flashes and night sweats.
Hormone replacement
Progesterone
- What it is
- Balances estrogen and protects the uterine lining. Many women also find it supports sleep.
Hormone replacement
Testosterone
- What it is
- A low dose that may support libido, energy and muscle tone when labs show your levels are low.
Peptide therapy
Sermorelin
- What it is
- A peptide that signals your pituitary gland to release more of your own growth hormone.

- Symptoms like poor sleep, low libido or mood changes affect daily life

- You have a personal or family history of breast, uterine or prostate cancer

Hormone therapy FAQs
Your questions,
Not sure where to start?
Our care team is happy to talk it through.
01
What is hormone therapy?
Hormone therapy replaces or supports hormones your body makes less of over time, such as testosterone in men or estrogen and progesterone in women. At Ask Health Services, Dr. Shahid Mallick, MD recommends it only after reviewing your symptoms and lab results.
02
Do you offer hormone therapy for both men and women?
Yes. For men we offer testosterone and sermorelin. For women we offer estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and sermorelin. Every plan is built around your own labs, history and goals.
03
How do I know if my hormones are out of balance?
Common signs include fatigue, poor sleep, low libido, mood changes, weight gain and brain fog. Because these can have many causes, we start with lab testing so your plan is based on real numbers.
04
What is sermorelin?
Sermorelin is a peptide that signals your pituitary gland to release more of your own growth hormone. It is usually a small injection under the skin. Your provider will explain whether it fits your goals.
05
Is hormone therapy safe?
Hormone therapy has benefits and risks that depend on your age, health history and the therapy chosen. Your provider reviews these with you, starts at an appropriate dose and monitors you with follow-up labs.
06
How soon will I feel a difference?
Some people notice changes in sleep, mood or energy within weeks, while other changes build over months. Everyone responds differently, and results vary.
07
How much does hormone therapy cost?
Cost depends on the therapy and plan your provider recommends. Call 832.374.0030 or text 281.714.9492 and our team will walk you through current options.
08
Do you see patients outside Sugar Land?
